After a long battle, you are looking at the eyes of your enemy, looking at death itself, knowing that the situation can’t be worse. The instant that you are about to surrender to darkness, you look to your side and see a giant ball of fire magic coming from behind, killing most part of your enemies, and letting you know that hope is not yet lost. Just when you start checking your odds again, an arrow imbued with arcane magic goes flying from your left, and you see it kill one big foe that you didn’t think was possible to defeat. In that moment, you begin to think that the odds are in your favor. Finally, when you are about to jump again into battle, a dwarf in heavy armor walks beside you and lifts his heavy maul. “¡These are formidable foes! ¡But we are mighty champions! And together ¡we will defeat any enemy that challenges us!” says the dwarf, and runs decisive into battle.

Nine months ago, I ventured in the amazing world of Dungeons & Dragons, waiting to find a hobby or just a good time. Instead I found a great way to immerse myself in something beyond explanation. Sadly, because of my country, the hobby wasn’t really well known and few people were eager to play. Then, I decided to embark in a more difficult and unknown quest, trying to create a small community. Time passed, and people come and go, but eventually we found a group that was as excited as us to play D&D, with time, the group got bigger and bigger, reaching two tables per week with different people. At first I just thought my task was completed, but I had you found the top of the iceberg. Eventually, I realized that the people I started to meet had all sort of different problems in their life and that, in one way or another, our D&D group was helping them face those problems, those foes that seemed impossible before. Today, my group and I tough ourselves as a family, facing together against impossible odds, both at and outside the table. I wanted to write this to the people out there facing their own demons, and tell them to come, grab some dice, and stand with us against all our demons. Because together we can overcome impossible odds.
