Stories are a big part of our culture, they help us identify ourselves in others situations, either because we felt similar or we had the same situation. They help us create empathy with others and are a great way of passing on some experience or lesson. This time I have to select three stories that I would take to a desert island for my Story Telling course. These are the three stories that made more impact on my life. Metal Gear Solid: Taking away all the gameplay aspects, MGS was the first time I really felt immerse and engage in a story. You first met a Solid Snake engaged with his mission just to get out of there as quick as possible, but with time you realize that we is worried for the consequences of his failure as anyone else and keep going with his mission besides all the consequences. This story made me realize that we should be always looking for the common good and be watching for our society and not only for our own good. The pursuit of Happyness: This is the first movie that made me cry. I remember how this movie made me think about all the effort that I should put if I want my dreams to come true. This movie also made me realize that life is not easy, but you can find small rewards along the way. Batman The Dark Knight Returns: I been a really big fan of Batman for a long time, but this movie really show me the Batman that impress me the more. Batman has always been my favorite because he doesn’t need any super powers to be a great hero. Batman always taught me that your ideal are the most important thing, and that you should always stay true to them. The dedication and work to fulfill your dreams is in all the batman histories but I prefer this one among the others. Batman is aged in this movie and he have to learn to accept and exploit his weaknesses to defeat his enemies. Was kind of hard to choose just three stories, but I chose the ones that most influenced on me. There are other movies like “A Beautiful Mind” that took my greatest fear and actually used them as a really good plot and others that I really liked too. This were my favorite stories, I’m confident that if I use all this lessons I’ll be able to write a great story like them one day.
